April 22 - 26

Monday is Earth Day!  Take some time in your homes to talk to your families about what it means to be a steward of God's creation and the importance of taking care of the things that God has given us.  Try to make a slight change in your life to go more 'green'.  Turning off lights when you leave a room is a simple fix, or buying a stainless steel reusuable water bottle instead of bottled water (more sustainable, cheaper, and bottled water is usually just filtered tap water anyway).

The fourth graders and their kindergarten buddies participated in the Land Run on Monday!

Mrs. VanDolah's class is doing Rise and Shine this Monday, our class will be going next week.  Feel free to join us Monday at 8:30 in the gym to watch your children.

Also, Progress Reports and Iowa Scores will be going home today (Monday).

Math - We are continuing with fractions this week, students will be doing most of their work out of the books and will have a series of worksheets on adding/subtracting fractions and finding multiples of numbers so that we can add fractions with different denominators.

Religion - We are continuing our theme on obedience this week.  Why should we be obedient, how does being obedient benefit us, who should we be obedient to, etc.

Social Studies - Our test on the state abbreviations, capitals, and locations for the Southeast Region will be this Thursday, please make sure that students are bringing their books and maps home to study!

Language Arts - We will be covering linking verbs and exploring some of the many irregular verbs that we have in the English Language.  Students will also begin their Expository Writing project which will explain in detail to someone how to complete a simple task.

Vocabulary - The test scores from last weeks Spelling Test were back on track, Vocabulary test on Unit 15 words will be this Friday.
