November 26th - December 1st

First of all I wanted to make sure that everyone is aware that I will be unavailable from Thursday after school until Monday of next week as I have an ACE Retreat that I need to attened in Austin, Texas.

We had a great time with our Kindergarten Buddies last Tuesday as we watched them perform a Creek (?) ritual in honor of the corn harvest.

For important school events please visit the school's Push Page:

Math:  In Math this week we will be focusing on chapters 3.5-3.6 and will work closely with algebraic equations.  Students can expect homework nearly every night.
Social Studies:  In Social Studies we will be studying the effects that weather and human changes in the environment can change a place's geography.

Religion:  How do our decisions affect others?  How does being nice and friendly change how people feel about themselves and act?  What about when we choose to choose the wrong thing, like lying.  How will that affect those that we are close to?

Writing/Language Arts:  We will introduce a couple important writing concepts including time-order words (first, then, after, next, etc.) and we will begin writing our personal narratives this week.

Vocabulary:  This Friday we will be having our Vocabulary test on the Unit 7 words.  Students should be bringing their books home every night and should be studying definitions, synonyms, and antonyms of the 12 Vocabulary/Spelling words.

Religion:  I plan to start familiarizing students with the parts of the Mass and the responses during the next couple of weeks, I have noticed that responses during Mass are not always clear from our students and many times they seem not to know how to respond.  Parents/Guardians, I encourage you to keep an eye on this in the coming weeks during Mass with your children.

Language Arts/Writing:  We are taking longer than I would have liked on the Because of Winn-Dixie book report but I really think that we can finish it this week and then start on learning the art of note taking.
